Lili and I arrived safely in LA, depsite the traffic and scary highways at David's house at 2pm, he was extremely impressed we did it in such good timing. We unpacked everything from the car, had a drink and met David properly, who is a friend of a friend. We then ventured out to the airport to drop it off, and David very kindly said we should follow him, we did think he was being a bit optimistic, so we kept our GPS with us, we were on the road for about 6 min and hit the freeways and David was gone, just too many cars to follow, so once again we used our faithful lady friend GPS to get us to Avis rent a car. Was quite a good feeling handing back the car, although she was our best friend along the coastal roads. David then became our tour guide and took us to Santa Monica beach, which was lovely, tried to look out for the Hoff doing his run along the beach in his red bathing suite, but naa, just a lot of fake boobs once again. Enjoyed walking down the pedestrian streets, loads of shops and cafes and buskers, nice vibe. Drove thru Beverly Hills, looking out for the famous, no such luck.We then went to the Cheesecake Factory for dinner, yes it does sound strange, but it is actually a restaurant that does everyone, and then it has about 60 flavours of cheesecake to, i think it originally started out as just a cheesecake place, now its big and always packed. we enjoyed a yummy burger, 1st one in the USA. The best is they even have a nutritional information book, this tells you how many calories every item on the menu is, how crazy is that, just to let you know the cheesecake was 1000 calories- oops!!!!! was well worth it though.

Really enjoying being at a home today catching up with emails, facebook - just chilling, I have lost Lisa to a book, she lost me to the same book earlier in our travels - so understand the need to read 300pages in a day, you got to love Lesley Pearce, she can get you hooked!! So lovely to speak to my family today, especially my darling Abigail, quite sad knowing that they are all under one roof, wish i could just pop in for a visit, but then carry on with my exciting adventure. Off to Hollywood tonight, will keep you updated on this page.

Cant believe it is our last night in LA and the USA, David has been a fantastic host and we really have appreciated his hospitality, he happily took us to Hollywood on Friday night where we got to see Kodak Theatre, where the Oscar awards take place every year. As you can see by the photos we had many an opportunity to hold hands with Tom, Brad, George, Morgan just to name but a few. We then indulged in some yummy ice cream and enjoyed people watching. We have ever seen so many fake ladies walking around all mutton dressed up as lamb, very funny actually.

Today David dropped us off  downtown and we got to see many historical buildings and experience a little Mexican life, the one street was made up of Mexican stall which were colourful and festive, lovely to see. The Walt Disney Concert hall is a very interesting building and we also got to go to the cathedral , which is very modern, quite strange actually, the tapestries in there were magnificent.

The rest of the day we packed, sorted a huge job which was the photos ( thanks to David's computer), and then enjoyed a good Chinese take away to end the evening.
