This morning was our third attempt at visiting the Uffizi. We figured we'd arrive early. Half an hour prior to the opening of the Gallery, we thought we'd be right up there, near the beginning of the line, not exactly. We waited a solid 45 minutes to actually get into the museum, this I know is not bad, considering the hundreds that stood behind us. We live here. If the lines are long we go home, to return another day, if on vacation I believe there truly is something to be said about "museum reservations," Florence is much more enjoyable "sans" the confines of a three hour queue!
Though no photographs were permitted to be snapped of the art itself in the gallery, the views of the city from the back wing, gorgeous.
The gallery and all its forty five art laced rooms was amazing. Among our favorites the Botticelli, Da Vinci, and Parmigianino rooms. What a magnificent housing of ancient art, priceless.
A lovely way to spend hours aimlessly roaming in indulgence.
