After my final was done on Wednesday, Katie, Olivia and I ran to Trafalgar Square hoping they would have at least 3 of 8,000 wristbands still available! THANK GOD THEY DID! I probably would have cried if we hadn't gotten them haha There were probably over a thousand people camped out already in the square, they had been there for a couple night already! This week has been RAINY too! That would not have been fun in the rain. By the time we left the square (within half an hour of us getting there) they were all out of the wristbands. Perfect timing I tell ya!
On Thursday morning, I went back to Trafalgar Square to see how it was looking and how many people were there. Throughout the day, they were closing off the square and when I got there they had HUGE fences up around the whole thing so you couldn’t see in at all. Also it was just down pouring! I was soooo soaked by the time I left and I was only there for 15 minutes. It was not looking good weather wise for the premiere….
Thankfully, our last class only took 35 minutes and we were able to get to Trafalgar Square by 3! Somehow the rain magically stopped even though there were showers in the forecast for the entire day! All the square was pretty much maxed out besides this one side….when we got there we were really disappointed because we couldn’t see a thing! So we decided to hang by this bridge/platform thing, hoping that when the stars came we would be able to see them walk over it. Little did we know, when the first car drove up, it stopped RIGHT in front of us and Rupert Grint got out!!! We about died when we saw him! OMG! We couldn’t believe he was the first person to show up and he was so close! He came running over to us fans when he got out of the car even! Somehow we totally lucked out with getting some pretty awesome spots since that’s where all the stars got let off for the red carpet and we were the first fans they came to. We had such low expectations that we were blown away haha
After Rupert, Neville Longbottom came in the next car. He came running over to us and I actually got his autograph!! I got Neville Longbottom’s autograph!! I was soooo happy! Haha he is SO skinny! Haha After Neville came Lucius Malfoy, Draco Malfoy, and Luna Lovegood. Luna was so cute! She signed a lot of people books, Katie got her autograph, I didn’t though. So all the stars came in separate cars at different intervals. Of course all the car windows were blacked out so you couldn’t see inside. I felt bad for all the nobody’s haha because everyone was waiting and then we didn’t know who the were and it was awkward haha
Then the Weasley twins came :) I got Fred Weasleys autograph! He even drew a little smiley face haha the twins both spent the longest time signing people’s books around us, like 20 minutes! They were so nice. They were even taking peoples cameras and taking pictures with them!
Then came Molly Weasley and Fluer. I looooved Fleurs dress! It looked awesome on her! Totally "Fluer" with the cream ruffles! I saw Bill Weasley across the street and got a blurry picture of him. Prof. Flitwick was next with his little midget family! They were so cute. His son, I wanted to steal him! Haha Bonnie Wright (Ginny) and her fiancé, Jamie Campbell-Bower (this is the first HP movie he has been in I think, hes in the Twilight movies mainly), came in the same car. Ginny was so pretty, I love her red hair and her dress. She looks a lot older than only being 20 (and engaged ha)!
Tonks was soooo upbeat and funny! I liked her outfit, seemed to really fit her. She really liked signing peoples books, she was really energetic! Then came Filch, Hagrid (smaller than I expected! Haha) and Slughorn.
Then Emma Watson!!! Ahhhh!! She was the only one that drove down with her window open so we could see her inside. It was really funny actually, they couldn’t get her door unlocked for some reason for like 20 seconds and she looked a little stressed, you could tell she wanted to get out! I absolutely loved her Oscar de la Renta dress! All the tulle was fabulous and it was so graceful but young at the same time. She pulled it off wonderfully! When she got out she came over to us and I like died, by then everyone knew that the spot we were in were the prime spots so you couldn’t move! I only had my one arm up holding my camera snapping pictures like crazy! Haha but it was so amazing to actually get to see her! You can tell she really loves her fans :)
After Emma, there were a few nobodies (she’s kinda hard to follow haha) but then Ralph Fiennes came! VOLDEMORT! Soooo cool to see him! I got really bad pictures of Mr. Weasley but he was super funny, such a random dude! Haha obviously perfect for the part! Haha I only got one picture of Snape. He just waved at us haha but at least I saw him! :) Then totally random, Anna Wintour, the editor and chief of Vogue magazine got out of a car! I thought I was seeing things! Us three girls like freaked out! Haha everyone else was like, “Uhh, who is that?” haha but Anna Wintour, that was sooo cool! If you haven’t seen the September Issue, you should rent it, great documentary :)
So by now it was 6:30 and we knew Daniel Radclife had to be coming soon, along with JK Rowling. Somehow I blew through both batteries for my camera so I was being very selective of who I took pictures of. I had to get some of those two obviously! Finally, Dan came and he like hopped out of the car and ran up the bridge thing, only waving at us once! Haha little disappointing but he looked a little stressed for being late. After him, JK Rowling came and she was amazing! She really is pretty! At first, I wasn’t too sure of her dress but then it grew on me, now I really like it. She looked fabulous in it! She signed peoples books and tried to take her time, she was farther up the line heading our way when her assistant person made her leave. We were all so bummed! She looked back at everyone and said sorry. I really adore her; she’s such an amazing author. There would not be a Harry Potter without her!
So she was the last one and after all the excitement we were SO exhausted! There were a few stars that I saw but didnt get pictures of such as Dumbledore, Prof. McGonagall, Cho, Narcissa Malfoy, Prof. Sprout, Lupin and Kinglsey Shaklebolt. Today, the back of my knees are sore from me standing on my tiptoes for three hours haha and my shoulder hurts from having it above my head trying to take pictures haha I’m more sore from that premiere than all the walking I have done since I have gotten here! Haha
Last night I watched some of what happened on the red carpet and the interviews. When I was watching the arrivals, I could see myself at times haha most of the time I could see my hand up with my camera getting pictures! So crazy that I was on the camera! Just goes to show how close I was. For reference, I was right under the lamp poll with a flowerpot right above my head. A blonde guy was to my left (he was in the camera a lot) and then a guy with a black hat with a red letter B was to my right with a girl in a straw hat in front of him. I was like the 3rd person back from the barricade. Throughout the event, we moved like 10 yards down somehow with people pushing and shoving! It was pretty crazy…. The stars would get out of their cars and then walk across the street to us.
The only bad thing about our spot was that you couldn’t see the screen or hear anything they were saying. But I really think we lucked out with only getting there an hour beforehand! I feel like half the people that camped out for 3 days didn’t get as good of deal as we did! Yeah, they could see the screen and hear them but they couldn’t get up close to them like we did! In the end, it was an unforgettable experience! I still can’t believe I saw the entire Harry Potter cast, still feels like a dream! It’s so sad its all coming to an end, end of a decade! I loooove these movies! I can’t wait for next week when we all can watch it!!!
