The boat trip was great! All I could have hoped for... and the pics speak for themselves.
I spent some time in the main port town again, diving and hangin on incredible beaches. I went scuba diving with hammerhead sharks!! Many sharks actually including white tipped reef sharks and galapagos sharks, but the most impressive site I have ever seen (atleast underwater) is the glowing outline of these massive (and freaky looking) creatures circling above as the sun shines through to the falthoms below! Breathtaking!
They are no real threat, they are more afraid of the bubbles we are blowing while scuba diving- in fact, you tend to hold your breathe in order to not scar them away! We were really close to the sharks at a spot called Gordon Rocks, which was a hard dive, but obviously very worth it!
I met a wonderful gal named Ivonne and there always seemed to be a large group of travelers getting together in the evening. We chatted it up with locals and felt like we became locals ourselves. On my last day I was invited by the park ranger to patrol for illegal fisherman within the park boundaries. I drove the zodiac boat around at mach speeds....crashing against huge waves and cruisin the open waters. It was a beautiful last day out there, I felt so free and full of experiences!
The day was followed by a big group dinner and a farewell dance session.
back to Quito one more day before heading to the nothern hemisphere again......
