Ah yes, we arrive into Houston the next day, all ready to go. Left the hotel via the shuttle bus in the dark, all excited with adrenaline cascading in our veins!! Check in was fine, swift, no problems, and no frisk this time!! We both had a pretty hefty brekkie as it was like our last supper before departure and the delights of Honduran food. However disaster struck, our flight was overbooked and therefore we had no seat!! Laura had pointed out that the ticket had no seat numbr on it but we thought nothing of it, hindsight is a wonderful thing!! No one would volunteer their seat so we settled for first class tickets for the next day and $600 dollars worth of continental flights each!! Not a bad day after all. We met some AFS“ers at the airport and got them to pass the message on to Honduras and then Houston was our oyster.

If Houston was an oyster though it would have been promptly spat out as there was nothing to do there except eat!! The rumours are true people, no wonder Houston is the fat capital of the world, the portions were also enormous. We both had a small smoothie that would be a large in the UK, no joke! We didnt last long in the city itself, a pity as it costs $30 each way in a taxi fro the hotel!!

After taking the bible belt express home (taxi had very srange religious readings on it) we just chilled with a starbucks in the hotel lobby (it was a biiig hotel) and got another early night, safe in the knowledge that we would DEFINITELY leave in the morning, and by first class too!!
