The day had finally arrived!! Tickets in hand and over 9 months of planning the trip was about to begin. The preparations however could not have been more different. Whilst Laura was receiving full body washes and facials in a completely tranquil environment, I was running around doing the usual last minute thing!! I only had 9 months to get stuff ready after all!! But once it was organised, with a few things taken out as my bag was overweight, we descended upon Gatwick airport, the portal to a life changing experience, hopefully anyway.

Having checked in online the previous day, it saved a lot of hassle and time at the desks, plus we got the seats we wanted. This was to take a twist later on but you will just have to read on and see!! Then came the nasty bit, the goodbyes to the parents. Having said farewell to everyone else this moment had to arrive. Everyone promised not to cry but alas, lets just say this didnt happen. The farewell was swift as if drawn out would have been even harder to do, as if it wasnt hard enough already! A brief cuddle ensued after the departure gates before having myself groped in various positions by hairy handed men, well it was nearly friday after all!! Why do they always pick me!!

Boarding the plane was somewhat easy as there wasnt the whole, 'dont let there be a big sweaty man next to me' syndrome with out twintet seat already secured. However, emptier flight meant an upgrade to extra legroom, much to the annoyance of a silver elite customer who wanted the whole row to himself!! The flight was as smooth as they come and as was the hotel at night, large room, rubbish bath as poor laura found out, osteopath please!!

We tried to stay up as long as we could but I caved in at 6 (12 in England). The travels had begun but the best was yet to come, stay tuned!!
