It was an adventurous trip home, but I arrived. After arriving at the Sydney airport in the morning, I learned that my flight was delayed for 5 hours for unknown reasons (although when I called earlier they said that everything was on time). In addition, I had woken up that morning with a sore throat and head cold. Not fun. I decided it wasn't worth it to take a shuttle back to the hostel and put my carry-on bag in storage to be able to go out and explore, instead I'd just wait it out in the airport. I bought some cold medicine and walked around the duty-free shops for a bit before heading upstairs to the chairs near the airline offices. It was much quieter up there than down by the shops, so I was able to lay down and take a nap.

Finally it was time for my flight, or so I thought. It ended up being delayed another hour and a half. Once we finally made it on the plane it was a smooth, uneventful flight back. I luckily got an exit row and used the night-time cold medicine to help me sleep most of the flight. I got home safe and sound (although it took my baggage another full day to get there).
