We left Port Campbell and headed east along the Great Ocean Road back towards Melbourne, we are staying in a town called Apollo Bay. It is bigger than Port Campbell and reminds me very much of seaside towns at home like Paignton. The Beach is much bigger with surf so the boys are happy.

On our first full day here it was beautiful weather so we headed down to the beach. Had such a fun day, played bat and ball, Alex spun me around so that I was so dizzy I fell over and got sand all over me. The sea is alot rougher here but it was fun as we were diving through the waves. The camp kitchen here is lovely with a cooker not just a hob, so me and Alex cooked roast beef it was amazing!!!

On the Monday me and Alex drove along the Great Ocean Road it was beautiful, a very bendy road curling around the coast line. It was so bloody hot though it hit 45 degrees I thought I was going to melt. Our first stop was Lorne, we had breakfast and walked along the seafront. We then travelled up to Torquay "The Home of Australian Surfing" and went to a surfing clothes outlet, the shops were huge but no major discounts so was not that impressed. Also Alex kicked a step very hard and smashed his nail there was quite abit of blood, so I made him go buy new flipflops as the bottom of his is hanging off and I think that is partly to blame. We then headed to Geelong which is the second biggest city in Victoria, we had to do boring practical things such as get the tracking done on our new van and food shopping so we didnt get a chance to see much of Geelong, but it was far to hot to really enjoy it anyway.

After the extreme high of the temperature on the 11th the weather went down hill in Apollo Bay after that. The rest of our week here has been quite cloudy and chilly with showers. So we have had to find alternative ways to entertain ourselves. Alex and I went to a local waterfall called Mariners Falls which was very pretty and included a 3km walk. We also walked up to Mariners Lookout on another day which was 4km in all but the 2km to the top of the hill was a killer!! The view over Apollo Bay was really nice though. We have played alot of card games to entertain ourselves!!

Once again people have been really nice to us here, we met a lovely family, Glenda and John who have 2 girls Lauren who is 18 and Emily who is 16. So they became our adopted family for the week and really treated us. One night we all played cards together and they brought us so many treats, we had chocolate, ice cream, sweets, crisps and dips I think we all felt quite sick come the end but that was such a lovely treat as we don't have things like that often.

Apollo Bay has been another nice place, I think we would of enjoyed ourselves more had the weather been sunnier and less chilly, we would of been able to spend more time on the beach. But the people we met here made up for the not so good weather.
