Where I stayed

On the 28th we left Monkey Mia and headed further north to Coral Bay, stopping at Carnavon on the way. Once again another
strange little town, but we were told to buy supplies here before going onto Coral Bay, as it is even smaller. Arrived at
Coral Bay stayed at Ningaloo Club Backpackers, nice hostel with a cheap bar-bonus! Coral Bay is tiny about 90 people living
here with one main street. The beach is beautiful and the Ningaloo Reef is literally about 10 metres from the shore, the
reason for our visit here.

On our second day here we went on a 2 hour boat trip, it had a glass bottom saw quite alot of fish and coral. We then had a
chance to get off and do a 30 minutes snorkel. It was good but it was quite choppy and we had swim against the current which
was quite difficult as I am a beginner snorkeller. After the boat trip we went back to the beach and snorkelled the reef
close to the shore. We saw a stringray here. We would of liked to of gone snorkelling with mantarays but it was a lot more
than the trip we did. As we are heading to Exmouth next and have an other opportunity to snorkel the reef further north we may
be lucky and see turtles, mantarays and reef sharks.

Hey you two!

What fantastic photos! You have just done sooo much and seem to be having a wonderful time. I'm so glad. What a lot of memories you're making for when you're as old as me!

Just one thing, I would really like to see a photo of Laura in her hairnet. Of course you really need Laura Batty stockings to complete the ensemble.

As you will gather from my witterings there is nothing to tell you that can compare with your adventures. Loving all your news - keep it coming. All well here. Chris safely back from Copenhagen. Grandpa caught several big fish today. I did some Christmas shopping in the rain! That's it from the sunny UK. Speak soon.

Loadsa luv Grandma. xx

Hi Laura and Alex! Great to read you blogs - it really makes it very real for me back here in the UK. The pics are great - how fantastic to feed dolphins! Thanks for your postcard. Mike is away lots at the moment - Brussels and even Stockholm for a couple of nights. Not quite the weather that you're having - it does sound extremely hot! SLightly different to the frost this week which resulted in the scraping of the car windscreen! Take care. lots of love, Kim xxx
