It has been even hotter today than yesterday as the sun has been out all day. We didn't leave the hotel until noon as neither of us could wake up. The sleep helped and we both feel much more human today!

We have walked everywhere today. We went to Orchard Road first, which is basically a street with hundreds of malls on it. Never seen anything like it. Me and Alex are loving the shopping malls as they are excellently air conditioned!!! We had a look in a few of the malls, but didn't buy anything. I particularly liked the designer shopping mall which had everything from Prada to YSL in it.

After that we went down to the quay area and had a stroll around. Saw the war memorial which was huge and was erected in the memory of civilians who lost their lives in the Japanese occupation. Then went to see raffles which is smaller than I expected, but looks very colonial. We didn't go into the hotel, but had a look around the arcade bit. We then went into another shopping mall as I don't think either of us have ever sweated so much so just needed some cool air.

We got back on the MRT and went to have something to eat. It is very cheap here we both had rice, noodles and 2 meats for $9 which is about 4 quid. Got some bits from the supermarket for breakfast in the morning and then headed back to the hotel with very sore and tired feet.

We have experienced our first thunder storm tonight, it was lashing down with rain but still very warm and the thunder was so loud and there was alot of lightening!

Just freshened up and had a little rest and thought we would come down to the internet cafe and say hello to everyone back home.

On our third day in Singapore, we decided to go to the zoo. It took a little while to get there as it is outside of the
main city. The zoo was really good and had lots of animals on display. It didn't feel like any other zoos we have been
to because the animals were not behind glass or cages unless neccessary, they were kept separate by streams or moats.
The best things we saw was a white tiger and the asian elephants. We went to the elephant show and it was amazing how the
mahoots worked with the elephants and got them to do things like pushing around logs.
Coming back from the zoo was also an experience- the MRt was really busy so Alex was stood a little way in front of me and
the dozy bugger got off at the wrong station and I swear if I hadn't of called him back he would of been gone. Don't know
what he would do without me.

On our last day in Singapore we went over to Sentosa Island. Its a strange place, like a playground for Singapore which is
not yet finished. It has little beaches with imported sand, lifegaurds with no current or bathers and bars that would be
found in Ibiza. We went and stood on a pontoon which according to the leaflet is the southern most point of Asia (however
not really sure about this because we could see land!?). We left Sentosa Island in beautiful sunshine but halfway across the
water on the monorail we entered a rain storm like we have never seen. It was raining so hard in Singapore water was
literally cascading off the roof of the shopping mall onto the terrace area. It did not brighten up and we left Singapore
in the rain.

We both enjoyed Singapore, it is a clean and friendly place with millions of shopping malls. However we both felt that
4 days was enough here as it is so humid that it can be uncomfortable walking around the city.
