Wow...I am quite pitiful at keeping up on this thing.
Hopefully I will have my computer sent over soon so I will have more time to waste on such things as the internet...at that point you may be graced with hearing more of my random thoughts about life in Korea. The things of interest happen just in everyday life...and by the time I get to the position I am in right now, it is well over, and the thoughts just are not fresh and new.
For now you can be rest assured, though I am sure none of you are too worried as you would have already heard I would think, but things are good! Today has been a great day, starting with phone calls from people who love me to wish me a happy birthday! And a steady stream of surprises from one of those people, including a very sweet video and the best- a picture of his airline ticket to Seoul!! =)

Life is life...at school everyday, visits to the gym, meeting a few other teachers at different places in the city- I talk to my boyfriend Mark a few times a week, my parents maybe once every few weeks and a handful of friends from time to time.
Saturdays are spent in Seoul, a city with so much that I can be here a year and maybe not visit the same place twice- but highly unlikely as I have already found a few favorite places to go! Recently I have been trying to find a nearby church, though it is very difficult as most of the English speaking churches are nearer to the city, and HUGE. I reflect on how amazing it can be to worship in the company of strangers with a different tounge, as I think of my time in Thailand. There is more certainly no shortage of churches in Korea, with the neon crosses lighting up the night sky. More than a dozen in a blocks distance from my apartment. I think my next step may be to simply visit...figuring out the time they met...and go...maybe practice a few phrases that will serve me well. Like, "I don't speak Korean" and "I am my beloveds"- I think that should work well enough.

Today...I'm a twenty-three year old young woman with a $100,000 + education, living my life in a foreign country for a year- teaching monsters...err....impressionable children, and will be returning to the United States bascially just as confused about what to do with life as I was when I left. Sigh. Oh, what a birthday can do for you...besides officially a year older, it also brings along with it many of those life questions...

I am very happy to be here. I am figuring out my kids...new tricks everyday to improve behavior and have more efficient classroom learning time. This is by far the most challenging job I have ever had, yet at the same time easy. It is a funny dichotomy.

I need to go to class very soon! Today and a few days this week I will try to upload some pictures. They are of Timothy's birthday in class, the welcoming dinner for our new teachers Hannah and our Chinese teacher Zoey and also the field trip to Wolmi park!

happy birthday
We celebrated as well, but did not fall off our chairs. Maybe a little more careful. Your b-day arrived with much relief, as we paid our taxes earlier. Mom reminded me several days later. Happy Birthday. Nice glasses. Dan
