Wanaka is a quaint little town, with probably only two main attractions (unless sky diving is on the agenda!) The local Cinema and Puzzleworld.

The Cinemas reputation proceeded itself, its proper cinema prices, proper cinema films, but the chairs are all sofas, (and even a car in one corner!) Only 3 different showings a day, and a very nice little cafe with absolutely gorgeous cookies! Well worth a looksee!! (We saw Burn After Reading, very funny film, highly recommended!)

Puzzleworld, is probably their biggest attraction, famous for its 2 tier maze and four illusion rooms. Well before we even attemped any of that we spent ages in the cafe trying to figure out different puzzles they had everywhere, could easilly spend a whole day there!

So we head into the illusion rooms first, The room of follwing faces was great fun, you have to cover one eye and move from left to right for it to look most effective, we spent ages moving around bumping into each other! Very funny!!

The next room was the tilted room. you lose all sense of balance as you think you're walking up but really down, balls roll up hill, water flows up, its mind messingly interesting!!

The other room was the Ames room, used in the only film ever made, 'Lord of the Rings' where you walk in and one corner you look like a giant then in the other corner you look like a tiny person! Its so much fun, we tried to film it but it doesnt come out too well, but you can get the gist!

Then we hit the maze........well needless to say with Steve being a man and me having serious issues with my left and right, getting our before dinner time didnt seem like a promising prospect! But we decided to follow some kids who were well keen and it was going quite well for a while, until we realised the little buggers were climbing under the walls and going thru the emergency exits! So that failed, we were on our own!! We did quite well, finding all four corners first then making our way out in a total of 45mins! (The average is 1-1 1/2!) So we were quite chuffed with that, we rewarded ourselves with more puxxle playing.........we still didnt get home till dinner time!!
