Day 27
Los Angeles to Honolulu
Early start today but a nice easy drive out to LAX on a Sunday. Dropped off the car, bye bye Kia, then into the terminal. Easy check in but not allowed into the AA lounge as the flight is classed as domestic –what a liberty!
American Airlines first class is not the same as BA business but at least we had good legroom and nice service but it's a long flight at 5 hours with only one film. But the good news is it looks like I might win at least one page in the Gin rummy saga.
We lost another three hours flying west so we arrived early afternoon but at least we could check in early. It’s a quick transfer from the airport to Waikiki which is good so with many Alohas we got into our apartment which is quite pleasant and has a fantastic view over the beach from the 12th floor. So we unpacked and loaded up the washing machine then strolled the beach for a few hours.
We came back to plan the next few days and organised a car and a helicopter trip so that should be fun. We decided to drive ourselves rather than get trips as the island is quite small so we’ll see how that goes.
So not much else going on today. Popped out for dinner and overate in a nice place called Roys. Just chatted with the girls for a bit but now the eyelids are drooping…
Safe, sound & sleepy
