the past 2 weeks have flown by =) too much to list day by day, so i'll just give you the highlights...
one evening, we walked from the house to the Rivoli castle...a beautiful night for a stroll before dinner ! and some really cool pics =)
during the day Giuseppe's sisters (Giuseppina & Giovanna) have been taking me all sorts of fun places...shopping in local markets, walking in the park around the castle, a drive in the country. i should have been taking pics...OOOPS !!!
i was getting a little frustrated with my lack of italiano and found a class for beginners...or so it's called, haha! class meets every martedi & giovedi (tuesday & thursday) from 4pm to 6pm. there is only one other student (Johannes, German) & the professor (Dr. Marco).
i get to take the bus to the metro station, ride the metro into Torino and then another bus to the universita! i say 'get to' because i LOVE public transit...i get to sit back and watch out the window (or people) and let someone else deal with the crazy italian drivers !!!
plus, the area around the university is interesting...tons of window shopping, street vendors, gelato/caffè, and more people watching =) *note to self, take pics for travel blog*
may 1st was a national holiday to celebrate workers'...like our Labor Day. festivals all across Italy and people out celebrating. a HUGE celebration in Roma with live bands all day!
and on sunday, THE POPE was in town !!! the original shroud of turin is on exhibit from 10.apr to 23.may which has been a big tourist draw for the city...and apparently the pope =)
it's been cold 10C (50F) and rainy all week and looks that way through saturday =( hope the weather is better where ever you are !!!
