After staying in Savannah, I didn't think it could get any better, well I was wrong.  Nola and Stuart Davis made arrangements for us to stay at a place just down the road from them.  It was amazing! Tidal marsh lands, a pier that is unbelievable, big trees with lots of Spanish moss, and so quiet.
We may all move in.  Molly even has the run of the place along with all the wild life.  After trying to set up, we found we had a jack that wouldn't work.  After a few phone calls, Larry got an appointment for Wednesday to find out if it can be fixed.  He and Kaptain Larry get us leveled enough to put out the slides, and we headed over to Nola and Stuart's for grilled oysters.  Larry and I had not had oysters and were just a little hesitant to dig into this feeding frenzie, but we did and enjoyed them.

Stuart and Nola's place is beautiful.  It is on the water with great views.  We also got to meet their friends Tony, his wife Jenny, their son Charlie, and Jenny's son Jonathan.  Jonathan is 24 and is going into the military, he will be coming to Fort Huachuca in April.

On Tuesday, the 2nd  we head into Fernandina and Amelia Island. Since Stuart and Nola grew up here we got a special tour.  Of course, climbing over a friends back fence so we could see the Amelia lighthouse was just one of those special treats. The beach is great even with the wind that was blowing that day.

Wednesday, the 3rd, Larry and I take the RV in and find out that the jack is broken and will have to order a part.  After spending all day arguing with the warranty people, the part didn't get ordered until Thursday which meant it didn't get shipped until Friday.  Long story short, the part won't be here until the 10th.  So now, if we are lucky we will leave here on Friday.  It looks like our trip to New Orleans will have to wait till next time.  Tonight Nola made her famous Shrimp Pilaf, which she shared her receipe.  Hopefully, I can make it when I get home (I did.  It was good but not as good as Nola's)

Thursday, the 4th, LeeDelle and I went into Yulee to find a Verizon store because her phone quit working.  This is after her computer got a virus while we were at the Outter Banks and had to be sent out.  Matt at Verizon was very helpful, but could only make arrangements to have one shipped to her, which is not easy since we are traveling.  Tonight, LeeDelle and I made dinner and we spent another great evening with friends.

Friday, the 5th, Nola and I went to the local book sale at the library.   This is quite an event, lot's of books to choose from and of course I came back with a few books. The rest of the day was spent relaxing, reading, and working on the blog.  Kaptain Larry made chili and we headed over to Nola and Stuarts for dinner and wine.

Saturday, the 6th, we had to move over to an RV park as someone wanted to use the space.  Sure hated to leave since it was such a great place. We found a park not to far from the RV shop so that will be easier.   As soon as we got settled in, I discovered my phone wasn't working, LeeDelle and I go out to find another Verizon store.  Did you notice a trend here?  We decided we must have used up all our good luck and had entered into an electronic Bermuda triangle. They have to order a new battery so no phone for four days.  The rest of the day was spent doing laundry and watching football.

Sunday, the 7th, we met up with Nola and Stuart for a tour of St. Augustine.  Our first stop was the Castillo de San Marcos.  This fort was started in 1672, making it one of the oldest standing structures in North America.  The day was cold and very windy so by the time we walked around the fort we were ready for a warm place to have lunch.  Of course, we look for a place next to the water but not outside.  We found just the place, The Santa Maria, where you can sit inside and still feed the fish.  Larry, LeeDelle and I try the gator burger, it was a bit on the rich side, but pretty good.
