We drove over the George Washington Bridge. Our first stop was Times Square. We spent about 45 min there. This was fun since they have a place that you can stand in the middle of the street and see yourself on the big screen. It was lots of fun. As we drove to Ground Zero, we passed lots of places along the way like Central Park, Wall Street, Trump's buildings, Battery Park, etc.
Once we got to Ground Zero, Albert pointed out the Freedom Tower that is being constructed in the area. As you might expect, the World Trade Center site is now little more than a large building site as they are constructing a memorial to the 2,750 men, women and children who lost their lives on September 11, 2001. Taking a walk round the full perimeter of the site, there was really very little to see.
Then, it was off to New Jersey to catch the ferry to Ellis Island and Liberty Island. It was very interesting to learn of the process the immigrants went through to get into the US. The Statue of Liberty is just one of those places you have seen in pictures and read about, but until you are there you don't realize how truly amazing it is.
