(43) NOVEMBER 4, 2008 - TUESDAY
THIS WAS A DELIGHTFUL TRIP WITH
OUR GRAND-DAUGHTER! FALLS MILL
FALLS IS ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS.
THE PEAK OF FALL IS COME. I CAN
NOT REMEMBER SUCH A BEAUTIFUL
FALL OR A MORE BEAUTIFUL LITTE
ONE AS THIS. IN THIS YEAR OF 2008.
THE PICTURES WE TOOK JUST DO
NOT DO JUSTICE TO WHAT WE SAW
AND WITNESSED. THE PEOPLE AT
THE MILL WERE VERY FRIENDLY AND
GLADLY TOLD US IT'S HISTORY. THE
GENTLEMAN RUNNING THE MILL
EXPLAINED TO US WHAT WAS GOING
ON AND WHAT THE MACHINERY WAS
DOING. IT WAS FASCINATING! INSIDE
THE MILL IS A MUSEUM WITH ALL
KINDS OF THINGS FROM AN OLD
PHONOGRAPH TO SOME OF THE FIRST
WEAVING MACHINES. THE GROUNDS
ALONG THE MILL WAS OUT OF THIS
WORLD. PICNIC TABLES ALL AROUND.
I COULD HAVE SPENT ALL DAY AROUND
THE WATER. OUR GRAND-BABY WAS SO
EXCITED FEEDING THE FISH AND
SEEING THEM DASH TO BE THE FIRST
TO GET THE BREAD BUT SHE WOULD
NOT GIVE THE FISH ANY OF HER BREAD.
SHE ATE ALL OF HER BREAD. WE
BOUGHT HER A PRETTY LITTLE
BRACELET THAT SHE PICKED OUT FOR
HERSELF. THERE WAS AN OLD COVERED
WAGON OUT THERE. OH, THE SOUNDS
WE HEARD LIKE THE WATER WHEEL;
THE BABBLING OF THE BROOK; THE BIRDS,
THE LEAVES FALLING; AN OCCASIONAL
FISH JUMPING UP. IT WAS SO WONDERFUL.
I COULD NOT HELP BUT WONDER IF INDIANS
ONCE LIVED OR TRAVELED THROUGH
THERE. WE WILL BE GOING BACK AND I WILL
BE PACKING A PICNIC LUNCH OR MAYBE WE
WILL JUST STAY AT THE BED AND
BREAKFAST ON THE GROUNDS. THANK YOU
FATHER FOR THIS DELIGHTFUL TRIP!
