(41)TRIP TAKEN SEPTEMBER 8, 2008
WOW, WHAT A WONDERFUL TRIP WE
HAD! YOU COULD NOT HAVE ASKED
FOR PRETTIER WEATHER AT ORANGE
BEACH. HURRICANE GUSTAV WAS ON
HIS WAY TO THE GULF COAST FOR
SURE. I DO KNOW ALOT OF PRAYERS
WENT UP TO ASK THE LORD FOR
PROTECTION OF OUR PEOPLE. I EVEN
PRAYED FOR OUR OIL SUPPLY. AS FAR
AS I KNOW THERE WAS NO LOSS OF
LIFE TO AMERICANS AND THE
HURRICANE PASSED OVER THE OIL
RIGS AND REFINERIES. PRAISE BE TO
THE LORD! ALSO, A BIG THANK YOU,
FATHER!  OH, THE ROYAL REDS AT
BUBBA'S WERE SO GOOD! THE
SEAFOOD AT HAZELS WAS EQUALLY
AS GOOD, ESPECIALLY THE CRAB
LEGS! WE DID NOT SEE AS MANY
PELICANS, SEAGULLS OR SAND
PIPERS...IN FACT, I DID NOT SEE ONE
SAND PIPER! THE WATERS WERE
CALM THE FIRST DAY BUT THE
SECOND DAY YOU KNEW WHAT MIGHT
BE COMING OUR WAY. WE MET AN
EXPECTANT COUPLE FROM ANDOLUSIA,
ALABAMA. HE WAS IN THE MILITARY SO I
GOT TO ASK SOME QUESTIONS ABOUT
IRAQ. HE SAID IT IS NOT AS THE MAIN
MEDIA AND NEWSPAPERS PORTRAY. HE
SAID WE ARE WINNING THE WAR OVER
THERE. YESssssssssss! WE DID PLAY
CARDS AND I WON FOR THE MOST PART!
I ATE THE WHOLE BIG BLOCK! MEME AND
CECE SEEMED PRETTY CONTENT THIS
TIME. I FOUND THEM A GOOD LODGING
PLACE. I DID FINALLY TAKE MEME DOWN
TO THE BEACH. THE OCEAN MUST HAVE
BEEN OVERWHELMING TO HIM BECAUSE
HE SURE WAS FUSSING. I WAS SURPRISED
THAT HE DID FINALLY SETTLE DOWN AND
JUST ENJOY BEING WITH ME. I EVEN PUT
HIS FOOT IN THE SAND. I TOOK THE BIG
FLASHLIGHT AND WATCHED KIDS CHASING
CRABS. IT SURE BROUGHT BACK GOOD
MEMORIES OF OUR CHILDREN, AT LEAST
OUR SON, RUNNING AND LAUGHING AS
THEY CHASED THE CRABS. I DO SO
TREASURE EACH OF MY TRIPS TO THE
BEACH WITH THE KIDS AND FOR THE
GOOD TIMES WITH MY HUBBY WHO TAKES
ME! THANK YOU FROM THE BOTTOM OF MY
HEART, FATHER GOD. ANYWAY, GOVERNOR
RILEY ASKED ALL TO EVACUATE...SO WE
LEFT OUT AT 11:10 SUNDAY MORNING. IT
WAS 5:56 AND WE HAD NOT REACHED
MONTGOMERY. WE STOPPED IN
GREENVILLE AT THE CRACKER BARREL
AND ATE SO THAT WAS AT LEAST AN
HOUR OF THE TIME SPENT OFF THE ROAD.
I CAN NOT WAIT (OF COURSE, I WILL HAVE
TO) TO GET BACK TO THE BEACH ONE MORE
TIME...AS THE LORD WILLS.
