The second sunny day of the year and a promise of rain and / or cold weather for the next several weeks prompted us to take the kids out for a day of fun and letting out steam.  We ate lunch at the Crestwood Family Restaurant (really there were very limited options - read none - around the zoo so eat beforehand).

We went to Popcorn Park Zoo, which is a "sanctuary for abandoned, injured, ill, exploited, abused or elderly wildlife, exotic and farm animals, and birds."

The cost to get in was minimal and we bought two bags of popcorn to feed the animals.  To our surprise there were many exotic animals such as tigers, bears, a two humped camel and more - each with their own unique and sad story.   Sad stories such as the tigers that were someone's "pet" but they could jump a 6 foot fence while they were only cubs, they were bought by a rich woman from Texas so her other rich friends can pay to hunt them.  They were saved and brought to Popcorn Park Zoo.
