What to do on a rainy day in May when the kids are running amok?
Go to the Jersey shore of course.

After weighing our option due to budget, distance, budget, kid friendly activities, budget, interest and of course budget we decided to take them to the Jenkinson's Aquarium and we're glad we did.

Parking was easy and convenient and even though it was wet the boardwalk was beautiful and some shops were open (arcades, food).  We easily found the aquarium, paid $10 each adult to get in and started our tour.

There are many species in the aquarium from sharks and small sea horses to alligators .  We got to see the penguins swimming and the alligators eating as well as touch a small sting ray.  The aquarium even lets you touch a small menta ray (as long as you wash your hands first).

Overall we had a great day, the kids (and us) learned a thing or two and not too expensive.
