Today we went on Kiva.org to see how Mr. Santos is doing.  As it turned out over the weekend he got his loan fully funded.
Good for him.

We also saw that Jorge Orozco Sanchez from Managua, Nicaragua was missing $25 for his $350 loan request to buy a motor for his bike (which is the primary mode of transportation for his bread business).  We gave the $25 loan and thus Mr. Sanchez will get his loan through AFODENIC this time.

Name: Jorge Orozco Sanchez
Location: Managua, Nicaragua
Primary Activity: Food Production/Sales
Loan Requested: $350.00
Repayment Term: 6 months - repaid monthly
Loan Use: To buy a motor to fit it to his bike / Comprar Motor para instalárselo a su bicicleta
Date Posted: Mar 2, 2008
Date Funded: Mar 3, 2008

A few years ago, Jorge became unemployed after working as a workman in the 'franca' zone. Having to feed two kids, he decided to start doing something well-paid so that he could pay the household costs, so 9 months ago he started to sell small bags of bread, sweet bread and toasted bread to grocery stores, all-purpose stores and certain houses. Every morning he buys bread in the main market, and then goes to sell it to his clients that rely on him. His wife supports him by selling soft drinks from home, all so that they can make it through and give their kids a good life. He requires a loan to buy a motor to fit it to his bike, as this is the mode of transport he uses to sell the bread.
