Once I got to city hall it must have taken 1 minute max to get to the counter and get my card - after about 45 minutes of wandering in the snow!
I made the foolish decision to go straight from there to the Sapporo Snow Festival
. I was so cold when I got there that I didn't want to stay long but I walked the entire thing anyway! My legs are still a little sore today from all the snow walking I did. I took lots of photos but I mostly just kept moving to stay warm. There were so many other foreigners there plus many Japanese people with their children. Loved the dinosaur ice sculptures!
I might try and get to the Susukino version of the snow festival tomorrow or Friday. And the Otaru snow fest on Sunday or Monday. Will have to make sure it won't be over then! Otherwise Otaru on Friday!
Sorry this is so short but I was so miserable and cold walking around the snow festival - I just wanted to get home the whole time! But looking at the photos from home = lovely, I'm glad I went haha!
I woke up late on Monday and decided to go collect my Alien Registration Card at City Hall. I had a map but unfortunately I decided to use "Honda" as a landmark. Turns out there's 3 Honda shops in Hiragishi so I went completely the wrong way! It was snowing very hard and so, so cold! As soon as I got to the river I realised I'd gone the wrong way so headed back. I swear when I got to City Hall I couldn't feel my legs or my ears. I turned my scarf into a makeshift head wrap but it wasn't very effective. Getting to the river was ok though as I finally got to stop and take photos of it and Mt Moiwa. One day I'll climb that mountain and get some photos of Sapporo!
