22/8-24/8
Welcome to Croatia, and after staring at the sign for 2hrs while we waited to get over the border, we were about ready to say goodbye! We arrived to Dubrovnik at lunch time to the most expensive camp site of the entire trip, 32 Euros a night! It was a good camp site through, with great showers, neither the less it still stung. We spent the first day chilling at the beach and doing not a whole lot. We meet a couple from NZ, Vicky and Bomville, who were kind of doing the Van tour. They were baby sitting the Van or, 'sweaty box', (the old community bus from the isle of white) while the owner was at a wedding. We had a few beers with them that night, and it was nice to talk to some fellow antipodeans, it really had been a while.

Dubrovnik is the most beautiful old town we have seen. The streets are polished smooth by the thousands of people who have walked over them, and the buildings and town walls are in perfect condition. The best part of the day was walking around the walls, it was about a 2km walk, and you got a great view of the town and surroundings. That night we sat at the troubadour and listened to the local Jazz band play, they were really good and we had a great night sitting and listening.

By the time we were leaving the camp site today a whole heap of van tour vans were turning up. We haven't heard or seen many antipodeans during our whole trip and then next thing you know there are thousands of them. It was amusing seeing the way people had spruced up their vans for the tour, poor old Clive looked a little under dressed in comparison. We drove out to the Island of Korcula after leaving the camp site, along another beautiful stretch of coast line. A few days on an island, well why not!
