We have been doing a few exciting things the last few weeks.  Firstly we went and saw Australia v Nigeria in the football (soccer) at fulham stadium.  The stands looked a bit empty, but there were 11,000 people watching, probably 9,000 of them were Australian supporters.

We walking in and were lucky to be sitting about 5 rows from the ground, the likes of Mark Schwarzer, Harry Kewell and Lukas Neil were only a few meters away.  I was a bit awe struck i have to say.  It was a nail biting game, but the Soccoroos ended up winning 1-0.  We are now hoping to get to a premier league game, maybe in Feb or January.

Last weekend we went and saw the Cat Empire.  I have been meaning to see them for ages, but have never got to one of there concerts.  So when i heard that they were playing in London i bought the tickets early.  It was at Shepard's Bush Empire, and we still only got to be in the third section.  We got front row seats up there so had a really good view anyway.

It was a great gig.  They have really just made Jazz cool again.  Lots of variety and really great improvisations.  They were just missing a sax!  The lead trumpet player is a great muso, he really runs the band.  Listening to their first CD and listening to them live, you can tell they have improved so much.  Would recommend you to go and see them.

So the last few weeks i have been immersing myself in all things Australian, so very easy to do in London.  I have to work night duty Christmas eve this year, but have Christmas day and new years off, so not to bad a deal.  We are going to a friends house for Christmas dinner, but not sure what we are going to do for new years.  Lots of Christmas parties coming up, not good for the bank balance or the liver, but hey you only live once!
