After our hike to Cracker Lake in Glacier National Park we jumped in the car and headed to Banff Provincial Park in Canada.  This was the first time I have used my passport since my 8th grade trip to Europe.  Needless to say the Canadian Boarder officers were not very nice to us.  We got the 3rd degree from 3 different officers asking all the same questions.  I think I may be just a little too sensitive but either way it put me in a funk for about an hour but then I was over it :)

We decided to stay at the Hostel Bear in Canmore, Alberta.  The hostel was very nice and cost about as much as we had been paying for US hotels but was a great deal for Canmore.  We had a great view of the Canadian rockies right out side our window as well as a frequently used train track.

The next day we headed to Banff.  We decided that it would be in our best interest to try and see as much as we could and then head west  to cut out some of the 10 hour drive to Vancouver the next day. The Canadian Rockies are amazing... incomparable to anything we had seen so far.  The scenery was so dramatic. There were also tons of glaciers on the top of the mountains.  We almost made it to Jasper park but had to turn around due to a cloud system that appeared to be a big nasty storm.  We were a little bummed that we didnt make it to Jasper but I think we saw some great sites along the way.

So we headed to Vancouver and hit Yoho and Glacier parks in Canada along the way.  It was another great day!
