We are heading out to take a tour on the Danube. Szentendre is about 40 kilometers from Budapest and we will tour the town - which is supposed to be a very well preserved example of midevil towns in Hungary.  We then get to take a boat on the Danube back to Budapest.

It is a beautiful day and it should be great.

Well, our trip was great.  Szentendre was cute but touristy, but cute none the less.  However.... we had a tour guide left over from the communist regime.  Go here... NOW,  NO go left... Can I go here... NO, we will go together later.... More stories later..

It is a bit later.  No pictures here, but the boat ride on the Danube was stunning.  It is amazing how the banks of the river and pristine and without all the homes and things crowding the banks of the waters back home.  You can travel for miles and see nothing but scenery.  The approach back into Budapest was glorious.  The Parliament is stunning.  The view up to castle hill and fisherman´s bastion was really pretty.  We were going to walk back over the chain bridge, but the wind was blowing too much and it was cooler, so we took a taxi.

I good tip for all.  If you need a taxi, go to a hotel and they will get you one.  In Budapest, the taxis contract with the hotels and all have flat fees for certain trips.  You can ask in advance but it is very reliable.  The taxi drivers are great too.  Jacket and tie and very professional.  As a matter of fact, I did not meet anyone who was not!  I will go back when I can.  I can not recommend this city enough!

Pictures to follow.
