Well, I couldn't stand it ANYMORE! I will add pictures later.

I have a few minutes between classes, so I thought I would write a few things, at least.

Journey accross the border into Canada - here goes.

Travel into Canada can be tricky sometimes. They have a real protectionist policy which makes it very difficult for anyone other than a Canadian citizen to work in Canada. Therefore, whenever you approach customs at the airport you are asked questions relating to that. They even have a spot on the I94 form that asks if you are entering Canada for business or pleasure. Hmmm. I wonder what you would mark if it were for both?

Anyway, some background. I can't fib to save my life. You all are probably pretty aware of that because of my candid remarks, to say the least. Because of the working in Canada issue, we are supposed to be rather cryptic with our comments and say we are "attending" a conference. So conversations with customs and me go something like this.

Q: Business or pleasure?
A: Both
Q: Why are you visiting Canada?
A: I am attending a conference
Q: What is the conference?
A: SunGard HUG
Q: Why are you attending?
A: To learn stuff
Q: Are you working at the conference?
A: Not everyone would say that
Q: Are you presenting at the conference?
A: .......yes.....
Bam!
I get a big red mark on my form. I walk to the exit and the fellow there sees my big red mark and directs me to the "Special Room". I stand in line there, with other felons. When my turn I approach the desk and the interrigation starts again:

Q: Business or pleasure?
A: Both
Q: Why are you visiting Canada?
A: I am attending a conference
Q: What is the conference?
A: SunGard HUG
Q: Why are you attending?
A: To learn stuff
Q: Are you working at the conference?
A: Not everyone would say that
Q: Are you presenting at the conference?
.......yes.....

and then....
Q: Where is the conference?
A: I don't know
A: Wait, I have a letter from the Canada Regional User's group that says I can visit
Q: What is the Canada Regional User's Group?
A: Well, do you really want to know?
Q: YES!
A: Ok, it is....
Q: Where are you staying?
A: I dig through my stuff and find the hotel name
Q: Where is it?
A: I'm not from here, don't you know where Yorkdale is?

Bad move....

Now I get to go to the EXTRA Special Room.

to be continued.....
