To avoid Francis’ dread of repetition, we took the longer route from Chitwan to Kathmandu. It was worth it for the fantastic scenery both days had to offer. The poor bike broke down in Hetuda and I worried I’d be getting the bus back. But the delay only meant we got to spend a night in Daman which offers one of the best views of the whole Himalaya range. Here I spotted Everest for the first time since March, and Annapurna as well- no need to trek for days on end either.
