A colorful day! Walking through the hills and steps of Valparaiso, I am reminded of San Francisco. Here they have old elevators, which crawl of the hillside on a levy system. I really wish they had those in San Fran.
Lining the streets are craftsmen and artisians selling their jewelry, clothes, wallets, paintings...you name it. Red, pink, purple, orange and every other color house stack up the hillside making a kaleidiscope landscape. Murals are on every single retaining wall, store gate, bus, any vertical surface! It makes for an exciting city walk.
In every nook and cranny, there is a little boutique with amazing handmade clothes and jewelery. Many people say this place is dangerous, and I guess it is after dark if you are out alone. The culture is so rich here! Music is heard everywhere, people are juggling about and walking around with mohawks dyed red and crazy leggings. In the expression of the people and the talents released makes this my favorite city visited thus far.
Towards the end of the day we visit Color Cafe. A wondeful place for hot chocolate and coloring! They serve you in the most amazing handmade cups and plates and they let you leave a note on the wall. This place is absolutely amazing! Me gusta mucho!
