It is severe thunder storming right now with the power flashing on and off and about 12:30am.It is strange getting used to the opposite schedule but today was packed with things to do. We had to get registered as a temporary citizen of luxembourg and go through a ton of paperwork I have to follow up with a doctor visit to get a tb shot and a chest X-ray before the ministry approves me. This should all be done by October along with other paper work to make me a temporary citizen. It's a pain in the butt.

I go to school in Differdange (diff) but live in the city so it is a 25 min bus ride to the train station then a 40 mins Train ride followed by a 10 min walk to my school. It isn't too bad expect I have to get up at 6am to be there by 915 and the jet lag suckssssss. I can not wait to get adjusted but it is really hitting me hard. There is so much more to do in the city than the smaller "village" of diff so I will be glad long term to live here rather than closer to the school. There is a fair going on for three weeks that started today at 5pm that I can not wait to check out it will be similar to the Ohio state fair I assume but my host family called it luxembourgs own Oktoberfest. Well see!

But after our scavenger hunt around differdange and speeches from administration we all decided to go home and put our things away then meet back in differange for drinks at a place we call Das Boot which they serve beer in glass boots (which you can see in our pictures) but it is also my schools hang out in the past (miami university basically takes over this bar and it is not really called Das boot but no one knows how to pronounce the real name) so everyone gathers there after class before heading home but since it is our integration weekend people are always there. Today and tonight were both really fun but I hope I even sleep though this storm to make tomorrows long day possible. We went to McDonald's after the bar to get food and it was so weird compared to america!! But i wish i could take pictures of everything because you are surrounded by beauty and amazing different things every second of the day its so hard to explain!

I officially almost got ripped off today paying 100 euros with only 82 euros in change for a 3.50 slice of pizza but caught her and borrowed change from a friend. She practically ripped the 100 out of my hand but good thing I had a tight gripe and got change before paying 20 dollars for a piece of pizza. I'm not that dumb but K thanks haha

There are a few trails in diff by my chateau that I can not wait to explore. I think I am going to bring my running clothes on Monday for my big break between classes that people normally take for siesta or lunch and get my jog on between classes. It's soo pretty. Europeans think it is strange to run in the road or even to smile at people!! Smiling at someone you don't know means you want to have sex with them!!! I have been biting my tongue to make sure not to smile at strangers! I have been paranoid since they told us that!...Craziness.

EVERYTHING is in French. And everyone speaks it. So it is very strange to be surrounded by people that you don't know if they can ease drop on ur conversation or not and also if they are talking about you or not since they don't smile! So weird haha

I plan on taking tons of pics of my school and more of my home very soon so stay posted! It's hard to capture it all because everywhere you look has something unique and pretty or interesting about it!

Miss you all!! Love
Lacey
