I am sitting in the lobby waiting for a fax to go through.  I'm not completely sure I can send a fax to Ireland, from Ireland, through the US, but I have to because this is the only way that I can print our boarding passes for Ryanair.  Ryanair is so cheap that you can only check in online and you have to print your boarding passes before you get to the airport.  So we're checking in online and faxing them to the hotel.  I am listening out of one ear to see if someone at the front desk says "Oh - we got a fax."

Update - this amazingly worked.  Phew.  We have boarding passes for the flight to the UK.

After that we walked up to the second lake in Glendaloiugh (get it?  Glen da lough - glen of the two lakes).  For the first time in my life I actually managed to skip stones.  It's about a 3 k walk roundtrip, which was just perfect.

Do not, however, attempt to eat a gluten free lunch in Glendalough.  I ended up having a chocolate covered rice cake I'd bought in Galway.

In the afternoon we headed out to see the ruins of St. Kevin's monastic thingy at Glendalough.  A thingy in this case is a round tower, a kitchen, a church and a bunch of scary gravestones.  We took another picture of us in the same place as some of our wedding photos.

And then, of course, time to eat again.  Being ceilac in Ireland is ok, but do not attempt to forgo dairy.  They just can't comprehend. So I'm pretty sure I got dairyed at dinner, and my stomach is evidence of that.  I got plain salmon on green beans and more chips.  The chips are really nice.  Maybe the cook them in the same vat as wheaty stuff, so they probably aren't safe.  Oh, my stomach.

Finn and I headed upstairs after dinner; David was supposed to get me the meringue for dessert which came with ice cream in the center and strawberries and chocolate sauce.  He was supposed to get it sans ice cream.  The thing is - they really can't deal with depriving you of dairy.  So the meringue came with whipped cream inside, which is pretty much like ice cream except less cold.  Usually I just say "oh well" but this small stretch of time during which I've been unable to eat had gotten to me.  I freaked out and sent David back down to tell them that I NEED DESSERT.  He came back up with meringue and strawberries, and it was sort of gross, but I ate it all defiantly.

So, because I was grumpy, and not accepting of my inability to eat anything, I was punished.  I was punished - gasp! - through Finn, who promptly got diarrhea.  OK, I will nto be grumpy about food, and I'll accept that I can't eat anything.  I feel like a bad mother.  (Logically I know that she didn't get diarrhea because I made them exchange the meringue, but still...).

We were up all night with Finn and her diarrhea.  She's fine now, and I swear I'll eat whatever I can and not complain.
