get to Blantyre. We made the bus from Salima to Blantyre purely by
luck. We had no correct info on when the bus left and happened to show
up at the bus station as it was pulling in.
We stayed at a great place called Henderson St. Guesthouse. It's a
little more expensive but you get a nice room with bathroom and big
breakfast included. Blantyre is a surprisingly walkable. We found a
good steakhouse and splurged there on a nice dinner, a cute coffee and
craft shop, a good ice cream shop, a cute craft market where we bought
an ebony Baobab game (I hope we can remember how to play!). We also
went on a private tour of the Carlsburg factory. At the end of the
tour they just left us in a room with a tray full of all their
different beers to drink for an hour. It was really funny!
The bad thing about Blantyre is all the homeless kids. They are always following you around begging and it is sad to see.
