Wow, we have struck gold tonight! Like true tight-arse campers, we checked the net before making a decision on where to stay in Eden, after dismissing the townships of Tathra, Merimbula and Pambula on the way through as candidates for hosting our last official night "on holidays". After this, we start our re-entry into our real life, starting in Paynesville with Paddy's Dad and ending up in our own home about a week from now.

I'm officially calling it quits on the blog at this point, too, as I know what will happen once we start the catch-up process. Celebratory drinks, slide shows and endless anecdotes, but there won't be much down time for sitting and reflecting, let alone writing intelligent prose. At some point, I have to face the reality of getting ready for another teaching term, too, but I have been successfully avoiding this issue up till now and will continue to do so for at least another week!

So, here we are in Eden in the most luxurious cabin I have ever seen in a caravan park! It is as big as our house, brand new and beautifully appointed. Most importantly, it has a quiet and effective heater AND we remembered to look properly for the electric blankets. In addition, there's a proper doona on the bed. This is the ritz! Paddy is stretched out on the couch (L-shaped and seats six!) and I am hogging the dining room table. If the weather were better and our stay a bit longer, we could enjoy al fresco dining on an enormous verandah out the front. You could do a lot worse than move to Fountain Caravan Park permanently, although it's a bit of a walk up a steep hill into town! Everything is up a hill around here; I had forgotten that since my last visit about 20 years ago. Poor old Serge has really earned a  good long rest after today's efforts, some of which had to be done in first gear!

It's been a day of culinary treats, too. We've just polished off a massive fish and chip dinner from the coop, and the day started equally well with an enormous cooked breakfast in the B&B to which we had treated ourselves in Narooma. Might be time for some exercise soon!
