I arrived in Manchester on Wednesday at about lunch time. I got to see a little bit of the city before we headed off to Leeds to see Ladytron (well worth the trip). Yesterday I went shopping and got my Camper shoes and some books, followed by going out to see a local band last night. The band were pretty good (they sounded a lot like Stone Temple Pilots), but I can not handle anyone who covers Led Zeppelin, no matter who they are. Needless to say I was extremely tired and hungry by the end of the night, so today I am pottering around the house, emailing and watching TV until I go into the city for Bloc Party late this afternoon. It's nice to have a break!

All in all, even though I was really looking forward to visiting Manchester, it is probably my least favourite location so far. It reminds me a bit of Melbourne and is certainly a very cultural place, but I don't really think it's 'all that'. That said, I have met some nice (and interesting) people in the gay bars!

Before I left Yorkshire my did a little more shopping with my aunty June, and I was really sad to leave. The kids had been amazing; we got to go bowling at a big amusement centre on my last night. June and I took a photo of a lady sleeping in her car in the carpark (even beeping the horn didn't wake her!). Don't worry, she was alive!

Tomorrow I will have a look at the galleries here (there is an exhibition of Mick Rock's classic music photographs). Sunday I have a long journey ahead of me (to East Preston in the south via London). It is a six-hour journey, and I will probably only be able to go to the toilet on the train as leaving luggage unattended at stations means that you will never see it again!). I will try and update again before then, as for the next week I will be staying with people who don't have internet. I will go to a cafe if needed. Then, this time next week, I will be leaving for gay Paris!

Yup, it's all starting to move rather quickly. After Paris I have another two days in London and then I come home! I think I am sufficiently enjoying myself overall (I know that I won't be able to go again for many years to come!).

Until next time...
Kylie

PS. Judy, John told me of your encounter in Myer. I am sending all of my good thoughts over for Kiss of the Beast!
