Hi there. Since I last did an entry I have beento see some fantastic things in Newcastle, such as another contemporary art space (where everything was for sale, but wekk above my price range), and a great little children's book centre and galery space. I also got ot go out for a night on the town with my aunty and her friends. We had a lovely Italian meal, followed by visits to three different bars. I also got to spend a little more time with my grandparents before leaving (Nanna was still very ill, but at least she was able to talk to me). This morning I left Newcastle on the train for Pontefract (but not before my aunty could give me £200 - about $500 - that my grandad wanted me to have).
I arrived here today around lunch time, and it is truly beautiful. This afternoon we went to a gorgeous old mansion with stunning gardens and a tea house. They even had a little pet cemetery there. Now I'm really getting to see a bit of the countryside, which I am really enjoying. It's much better travelling by train than by plane, as you get to see a lot more. Tomorrow we are going to York for the day, which should be lovely. I have a few days here before heading down to Manchester (for what looks to be a lot of late nights out on the town!).
It all seems to be travelling along at a nice pace at the moment, but I know that soon enough it will all speed up and I'll be back home (and at work).
You can all rest assured that although my suitcase was crammed full of things when I left, I am managing to fit in some lovely presents for everyone. Now I have to start some serious shopping for myself. I am definitely getting a pair of Campers with that £200 when I get to Manchester!
I guess you're all at home for the weekend (those of you from work, anyway), but I'm sure I'll be updating again in the coming days. Apologies for the lack of photos - I haven't had any put on CD yet as I'm not going super nuts with the camera. I know that if I take too many photos I won't be able to remember what they are all of!

Kylie on the move
Hey Kylie, just thought you should know that we are still following your progress with great interest. I am v.envious of your jet-setting lifestyle. What is the train equivalent of jet-setting? Are you pretending that you are a second year Hogwarts student returning after the summer break? Go on, ADMIT IT!
Weather update: the heat wave is well and truly gone. Nice and COOL and even a bit rainy.
