Today began as pretty much an average Sunday at the Kiser house. We just got up, had a light breakfast then headed off to church. One slightly interesting thing was that it was pouring rain meaning the pair of shoes I intended to wear was not suitable (since I didn't want to ruin them). This also meant I could not wear the outfit I originally planned to. Thankfully, I did bring two options so the other worked just fine. Well, except that the shoes are beautiful but extremely uncomfortable so my toes were asleep by the end of the service. But I guess that is the price you pay for beauty.

Anyways, church was very good. Becky (Andrew's Mom) and Lisa and Nita (Andrew's aunts) sung a nice song. I had never heard them sing together but I had heard that they were very good. Now I know the rumors are true! Then Kermit (Andrew's uncle) spoke. He preaches like a black man even though he is very white and very southern. Sometimes I wonder if he thinks he is black. But he gets the point across so that's good.

After church, we invited ourselves to a meeting at Jim and Debs (youth leaders and friends of Andrew's) house for lunch. We enjoyed chatting with them and ate some chicken salad sandwiches and some veggies, chips and things like that. We didn't stay for too long because we had to leave with Andrew's mom to go watch Gabby's (Andrew's brother's daughter, so basically his niece) dance recital. We thought it would only be about an hour long but it turned out to be about 3. We did stay the whole time, well except for a break to go down the road and buy Gabby some flowers. It was a good show. There were some cute little kids and Gabby did very well. She has only been dancing for a year but she was doing much better than most of the other girls. Plus all the costumes were so cute! The funniest part of the show was when one of the instructor's was doing a solo dance. She was a little bit bigger and the song had a line that said "Now, I'm a fat house cat." It was impossible to contain our laughter.

Once that was over, we headed home and ate lots of pumpkin pie. Oh yes I forgot to tell you that Andrew's mom made us pumpkin pie yesterday. It is my favorite and it is so delicious when it is home made. So we ate some last night and each had two pieces when we got home today. We needed something to help us recover from the 3 hour recital for about 20 dancers. Then we planned out our day tomorrow and played some "Sing It". Then it was time for some dinner. Now, we are going to eat our ice cream sundaes we never made yesterday. Then watch some sponge bob and get to bed early.

The plan for tomorrow is to get up very early and drive to Gatlinburg. Then we are going to go to Ripley's Odditorium, have lunch, go to Ripley's Moving Theater, eat donuts, got to Ripley's Aquarium (with more fish than people who live in Gatlinburg), have dinner, then go to Andrew's grandparent's house for the night. It will be a rather busy day so the blog may be late and not written until Tuesday. But it should be lots of fun. Really what can be more fun than going to a city that is just a giant tourist trap? I mean I know it is better than the last tacky tourist trap I visited since that was South of the Boarder.

So today was a pretty laid back day to prepare us for the excitement of tomorrow. Then we have Tuesday to rest up before I leave on Wednesday to head back to Lynchburg then on to home. Have a good night everyone!
