Today, we began with a hearty breakfast than hit the road with much more than we had came with. We even had to put all of our (mainly Tiffany's) chocolate in a little cooler, with lots of ice in the very back of the truck to make sure it would not melt.

So the trip began. It was fairly uneventful except for the sadness that my ipod stopped wanting to play through the radio about half way through the first stretch. However, we recovered by listening to some oldies on the radio. Then we reached our first stop, about 2 hours after we left, Myrtle Beach - Broadway on the Beach. However, this ironically is not located on a beach but is located around some water and contains numerous tourist traps. But of course, we are tourists and we fell for all the traps. We got some crushed pennies and enjoyed some more chocolate we found. We even bought some more candy from a store very appropriately named "Sugar". I was very excited to find a store that was crab themed but sad to find that not only did it sell crab souvenirs but it also sold crab recipes and sauces. I avoided the cooking section but did buy some pasta in the shape of crabs and a key chain. I think I will hang the key chain in Crabby Cakes cage right next to his bikini star fish. I also saw a funny shot glass in this store that said "I got Crabs at Myrtle Beach". I thought it was very funny but not appropriate because Crabby is from Virginia Beach.

Another funny place we saw was a place called Liberty. First we just thought it was funny to see a restaurant called Liberty and how different that was from the school. Then we realized it was actually a Brewery which made it all the more ironic.

Broadway on the Beach had many exciting attractions including a 3D IMAX and cool Castle Mini-golf. The Mini-golf place even was connected to a little pirate ship that was actually floating in the water and it had part of the course on it. They even had carnival games and I think some rides.

After we had eaten enough of the cheese and endured the snap of the trap long enough we made our way back to the Hard Rock Cafe. Really this was just sniffing after a new kind of cheese. This cheese had funny colored hair, sings, and plays loud music. Plus its in a giant pyramid so that's always fun. So, we got some lunch and of course some souvenirs in the gift shop. I got a cute little rock star teddy bear that has a leather vest, purple hair, and an earing.

Then we hit the road for Wilmington / Carolina Beach. This was only about another hour and a half from where we were. But we needed to stop for gas since I was past empty. I was planning to fill up before we left Charleston but then I forgot and was distracted watching the road and talking to Daniel. Thankfully we did make it to the gas station and then we were on our way.

We were anxious to go see the beach after all the bathing suit clad people we saw on our way driving and into the hotel. So after checking in and dropping off our stuff we went for a little stroll along the water. It seems like there is our hotel and another one about half the size together so the part of the beach in front of us is very busy. But then further down the beach it seems to be mainly smaller hotels or rental houses so it gets less and less busy the further you go. Sadly, the waves aren't too big so surfing probably won't be happening but the water is nice so it will be enjoyable to tan and swim a little.

After our stroll, we headed out to find a restaurant. At first we missed the one the hotel recommended and it looked busy so we decided to drive a bit more. But since we don't know the area and apparently Daniel thinks its alright to lead us to people's houses and tell us they are restaurants, we drove around quite a bit not finding what we needed. So after a while and a tour of some interesting areas, we decided just to head back to the one that was recommend. It was good. They gave us a lobster that vibrated when the table was ready.

After dinner, I went for a nice stroll while chatting on the phone. I noticed that this area looks a lot like that from the movie "The Last Song" because there are houses with dunes in front then the beach and there is even a fair. I even saw some people twirling around fire sticks. But I stayed away. The guy wasn't very nice in the movie so I figured he wouldn't be in real like either. It was a beautiful night and it is so nice to just be on the beach and hear the waves and smell the ocean breeze. I am very excited to spend tomorrow just sitting on the beach. We hope to actually find Wilmington tomorrow night and some of its supposedly delicious restaurants.
