On the road just after breakfast. Took autoroad thru Geneve, past Lausanne, to Montreaux. Found a bank (surprisingly few along the tourist route) for Swiss Francs. Then to Chillon – which is still among my favourite castles to visit. It was cold butnot rainy. We explored the chateau from crypt to tower (climbed all the stairs, all the way to the top). The kids seemed to thoroughly enjoy it.

Back on the autobahn through Bern to Interlaken. It rained the whole way. We chose a very nice hotel with a large comfortable room. Went first to a nearby Laundromat to do basics load, then walked through the town. Tried to find Monika's shop – walked through Victoria Jungfrau (very modern, in bumble-bee colors). It was starting to rain again, so we returned to the hotel.

We all read for a while, nibbling on cheese, apples, and bread. Paul and I went downstairs for a dinner of sausage and rosti.
