Hi Everyone!
I'm excited that I've already been able to add pictures two days in a row, but I'm not sure how common this will be. This morning we woke up, went to the falls
but it was pouring rain. It was still cool to see them during the day and we stayed about an hour to take pictures and get soaked. From there we headed back to the states where we had a very nice interaction with the border patrol. We got to the checkpoint and the meathead who was on a total power trip didn't even listen to the answers to the questions he asked us and just sent us "upstairs". We then waited in line for bit upstairs just for them to ask Phil how long he'd been in Canada for and where he worked in the States this last year. Then they gave us back our passports and we were finally on our way back into new york. In Indiana we took a detour to Wal-Mart to get some camping gear. I fell in love with the countryside there!! We were in Amish country and saw a bunch of horse drawn carriages along the way. It was so beautiful! We then had way too much fun in Wal-Mart as you can see from the pictures . . . We are both really wired all the time from the coffee and driving that we were really looking forward to some $3 wine tonight, but apparently in Indiana you can buy a gun on Sunday but not wine. Go figure. We're staying west of Chicago tonight, we decided to skip the city since we don't have enough time to really explore it, and tomorrow we're off to Mount Rushmore. It will take close to 13 hours so that will fill the whole day.
I had to take this photo for my fam- a little bit of home in a walmart in indiana
Hope everyone is well and hopefully more updates soon!
love,
Kate

Cheap wine!
Just wait until you get here--we have Two Buck Chuck(name says it all) and Five Oaks is only 2.50 at Rite Aid! I have a feeling we are going to get along well :)
Travel safely!
