Well, i spent time with my intercambio today. I speak way better spanish than she does english. At least thatīs what she tells me. And i guess it makes sense when itīs easier to communicate in spanish than it is in english. It was fun...a little forced...but fun. We went to a little cafe near the center of the city and drank some tea while talking. Nothing too special. Although i did have to concentrate really hard to speak s-l-o-w-l-y and c-l-e-a-r-l-y so that she could understand. But i guess thatīs what all the spaniards have to do with us. Iīm glad she can practice her english with me and is just as tolerant of my mistakes as i am of hers.
Right now iīm pretty much just wasting time on the computers at school trying to charge my darn MP3 player which i have STILL not gotten to play. I have to say, itīs been quite a roller coaster trying to get it charged. Every time i think i know how i can get it charged up, something goes wrong and it doesnīt charge, or my wall charger breaks because the voltage is different and the thing i bought to change the voltage doesnīt work the way i thought it would, or it doesnīt charge from the computer like itīs supposed to. So iīm reluctant to hope that iīll have some music (even just one song) after charging it now. Keep your fingers crossed for me.
O, and i would be using this time constructively by putting pictures on my camera, but apparently the batteries arenīt charged, even though i just bought a new charger and they were charging for like 24 hours.I dunno. Perhaps i had the wrong batteries in the charger..i really have no idea. Does everyone have this much trouble overseas???
Send me some words of encouragement.

Kris,
You have two Godparents who are world travelers. Use them. Ask them about adapters, batteries, charging US appliances, etc., in Europe. Either Rick or Ann should have an answer for you. When I was in Europe (during the dark ages -- 1975) my adapter worked just fine. But all I used it for was the iron and the hair dryer.
Good luck.
Aunt Mary
Good luck.
