Day one:

We arrived in Paris today. We left Cyprus at 120 am and flew all night. We arrived at our hotel at around 2ock. After a short nap, Randi, Andi, Paige and myself hit up the Eiffle Tower. We climbed up the 700-1,000 steps and than took the elevator to the top. We got there around sunset so we were able to see the changing lights of the city. It was so beautiful looking down on people who looked like ants. We than went to Villa Spicy for dinner and Paige and I split steak tar tar and duck with a berry sauce. Than Andi and I split ice cream. After dinner we walked around the Champs Elysees and saw the Arc de Triomphe and the light show at Eiffel Tower.

Day two:

Today we went to the Louvre. We saw the Raft of the Medus, the Mona Lisa, the Wedding Feast, the Winged Victory of Samothrace, Le Serment des Horaces, and the  Venus de Milo. I loved all the different stories behind the paintings. For example the Mona Lisa was stolen twice and was popular because the her poster was plastered all over the place when she was missing so because people saw her face so much she became popular. Also, more people came to see the empty wall where she hung than when she was there. After the Louvre we went to lunch and had French Onion Soup and Escargo. After a long lunch we went to Nortre Dame and Sainte Chapelle. Sainte Chapelle was so beautiful. It was a church made entirely out of stain glass. Unfortunately half of it was under restoration but it was still magnificent. Afterwards we walked around and saw the Opera House and down Rue de Rivoli, Madeleine Pinacotheque and the Place de la Concorde. We than had dinner on the Champs Elysees. After dinner we walked home.

Day three:

Today we woke up and Paige and I went to the Picasso Museum. It took us a very long time to find it and when we finally did the museum was under construction so we couldn't go in. (Reopening in 2012). We did how ever find a ton of cute shops, bakeries and vegetable markets. After that we went to the Museum d'Orsay. Here I discovered my love for Pissarro and Sisley and Edgar Degas' ballerinas. I saw a ton of Claude Monet's water lillies and Van Gogh's self portrait where you could see the craziness in his eyes. I also saw a ton of paintings that I had learned about in my art history class, so just knowing about it and seeing it really closed the learning gap for me. After the museum we went to Versailles. It took us a bit longer to get there and when Randi, Paige and I got there we were told we had 20 minutes till it closed. So the three of us took off running through all the different rooms. Most people say it takes anywhere between a half day to a full day to see Versailles, it took us 24 minutes including seeing the gardens.
