I've been in Manila for two days personal transaction. Again, thank you for the inventor of the airplane for making the Philippine islands closer. Otherwise, I will be traveling three days by ship from Mindanao to Luzon.

Manila is still the Manila I've known. There are so many people and vehicles causing heavy traffic.

Sogo Hotel. I arrived 8pm, so I directly headed to famous and I'm familiarized Sogo Hotel in Pasay for an overnight stay. I was shocked when the receptionist handed me a number tag. "Number 23"! Sogo Hotel is like a hit and box office theater, everyone is waiting for a vacant room.
Yet tired, I still have patience for waiting. After an hour of waiting in the reception lobby, at last, I got a standard room for 12 hours for just P800. Worth for waiting!

Shogun Hotel. Next day. I'm looking for an inexpensive but good hotel for the night. A good friend referred me a hotel where they are staying. This hotel is located near MRT-Taft station beside Kabayan Hotel. The standard room is just P1,500 with TV, A/C, WIFI, and a complimentary breakfast. The best thing here is, the check in and out time is the real time when the guest used the room. Some hotels have check in and out policy.

Comparison.I preferred Sogo in terms of location. Shogun location is overcrowded because it's near train station and Baclaran bazaars. Both hotels foods are good and cleanliness of the room are well maintained. WIFI is faster in Sogo than Shogun, even phone signal is a problem from my room in Shogun. I need to stay in the lobby to communicate my family. To save money and when traveling with kids, I will choose Shogun.
