This is my second time to celebrate new year with my family. Booked through Qatar Airways from Dammam, Saudi Arabia with stopped over in Doha. Shopped for a few minutes in Doha Duty Free with the intention of having Qatar riyal bills. I never did this when I'm in Kuwait and Abu Dhabi airport, so next time I'll go for other airlines passing those countries.
Qatar Airways arrived 9am in Manila, so its very advantage for me because I have a domestic flight to Davao.Since my domestic flight is in the afternoon, I decided to look for a hotel to stay for few hours to relax, refresh and to abide the nature's call. So bad, because I really not comfortable for what they have called "comfort" room situated in public places.

Outside the airport, a hotel representative approached me for a hotel. I told him that I will only stay for 4 hours. He agreed and he promised me to give a discount for the room. He then called a car to drive me through the hotel. I thought of free ride but its not because the driver asked for P400 fare. Anyway, most of that private cars asked for more same with taxi especially from international airport of Manila. They think all locals and tourists arrive have full pockets. Anyway, this is my description of the hotel.

Crosswinds Hotel and Restaurant - the normal room price is P2,200, the receptionist asked me to pay for P1,900. My room is on the 4th floor without window. It's not the problem for I will just nap. The room is big with queen size bed but the cabinet and TV is very old. There's no refrigerator. I asked for towel because there's none. In such price, I think of toothpaste, toothbrush, and comb. The room only have soap and tissue. There's no WIFI and the elevator is small. I think only good for 4 persons. The restaurant is in the ground floor. The main door is always open sighting all vehicles outside. The location is not good, that street near Baclaran church is always in heavy traffic but its very near to the airport.
The worst things here, I can't save water here. The toilet bowl need it more!

I just nap and continued my domestic flight to Davao with Philippine Airlines. From Davao, I rented a van for 2 hours land trip to Kidapawan City. Next time, this idea is not advisable especially I arrived in Davao almost sunset. Better to stay in Davao and travel only during daytime. The road from Davao to Cotabato is very tough and will make the driver sleepy. I checked in Kidapawan at AJ Hi-Time Hotel overnight.

AJ Hi-Time Hotel - The price is P1,200, the room is classy with mini bar but without refrigerator. The room is clean and big. My room is with terrace and with WIFI since its near the reception. The price is worth for a good stay. A recommended and top hotel located in Kidapawan City.
