One of my most significant New Year's resolutions was to spend a day doing nothing. Why not start now?

I literally stayed in bed until 2 pm. Hell, I usually have a hard time sleeping in past 8 am, and here I was groggily taking a leak 2 hours into the afternoon.

I picked a good day to waste. The weather was shit outside with the pollution blending into the dense fog covering the bay. Plus, I had a hot guy by my side. I was in no rush. :)

After parting ways with Roy and agreeing to meet up later that night, I made my way to the infamous Shanghai markets. It was here that the Ipod was invented (or at least copied to perfection) and you could purchase upper class goods for a lower class price.

I wasted no time. I knew what I wanted and wasn't going to spend any time farting around with shop owners desperate for American dollars.

Normally I would be flustered and lose focus at the first sight of cheap goods; however, the peace, resolve and satisfaction offered to me the night before carried on into today.

I purchased an Ipod charger, some amazing headphones and a cool beanie.

After another afternoon run, I was ready for night two of Shanghai fun. The club of choice; Dubai. This venue was hardly the underground joint I frequented the night before. Instead it was located on the second story of a recently refurbished 5 star hotel. It was what you would call "posh."

Roy was sipping a cocktail on a lazy couch with his friend Kimber and her gf. Upon seeing Roy, I was filled with the same excitement I felt the night before. Kimber's gf was from Germany and spent the last 5 months in Suzhou working as an engineer for Bosche. Her attitude was somber. In just two short weeks she would board a jet plane back to Germany where she would finish her contract at home. This of course meant leaving who she called the "love of her life."

Kimber was feisty from the start (in  a good way). She maintained a strong demeanor and loved to muck around. I was a good sport which made her like me from the start.

My ADHD kicked in no more than 5 minutes into our initial conversation. The music was THAT good.

It felt as if the bass was literally embedded within the seat cushions. That meant one thing: I HAD to dance. Normally, an empty dance floor would scare people off; for me, it meant more room to perfect my moves. I was in a zone for at least 15 minutes. I awoke to Roy by my side, eager to join. We carved up the dance floor and literally got the place going. Imagine 100 anxious onlookers almost uniformly conjuring up the courage to enter the floor.

It was quite a spectacle. It was SO great that the DJ even granted my request to add background vocals to some of the tracks in the future.

And so tonight ended in much the same way as the night before. And as promised, I will spare you the rest of the details. ;)
