Walking the 12km Alangy historic trail, establishes about 1870 during the Qing dynasty, from Daren ( trail only from Nantien ) to Hsyhai on a sunny and hot day. Luckily the ocean hasn't been far making for refreshing dips in the cooling water.

Please see also the Entries around May 10, 2007, when I walked the same distance via the back roads, not along the coast.

Remark: The government has decided to build the road No.26 all the way from Daren to Jialesuei! The previous DPP government had put this plan on hold. Now this pristine, very much untouched coastal stretch with great bio-diversity, which has up to now only seen smaller sections developed with narrow roads, will be destroyed.

Still hoping that a better solution can be found and the last remaining pristine coastline in Taiwan can be saved. But to be on the safe side, take the chance to visit and walk there as long as you can....It's worth it!
