Tonight, I traveled south to Amsterdam ArenA to see the Amsterdam Ajax play Real Madrid in a Champions League match. Before the game, we went into the fan shop and I bought a Ajax hat that I really liked. I was planning on buying a similar hat from a tourist shop that just had Amsterdam written on it, but this one said Ajax Amsterdam. I like it more because I won't stick out as a tourist with it, I'll just look like a Ajax fan. Tourists always buy the other kind I was going to get.

The atmosphere at the game was definitely more energized than the Dinamo Zagreb game I saw since Madrid is one of the best teams. Fans were cheering a lot more during the game, and the main fan section where all of the craziest fans are was way more fun to watch.

The game started off well, with the Ajax controlling the ball pretty well, but then Real Madrid scored two goals and two of Amsterdam's goals were called offsides

The second goal call enraged all of the Dutch people there. People stood up and yelled at the referee for a good five minutes. I don't know any Dutch obscenities, but I'm sure there were a lot being thrown out. I thought both of the goal calls were pretty questionable, it made the game seem like it was being controlled by the referees instead of how good both teams were.

After that Madrid scored another goal and the game ended with them winning. The Ajax now don't qualify from the knock-out phase, which is sad. Even though we lost, I still had a great time. It was an awesome opportunity to get to see Real Madrid play.
