I just got on, and this is one of those huge planes with an upper deck! My seat is on the upper deck too. This is the first time I've ever ridden in a plane like this, and on the upper deck! Let me tell you, it's really nice up here! Each seat has its own little monitor, but unlike the other plane, you don't have to pull it out because it's installed in front of you. They have these little storage areas on the side by the windows, which I think is rather nifty. There are coat hangers for jackets on the same mounting for the video screens also. The seats are adjusted by automation, rather than you having to push a button or lever and then adjust the seat to your comfort. It's pretty classy up here!
I got on, and an attendant came by with a tray of champagne, orange juice and water to offer me a glass. The same man came back again later to offer me a hot towel. This is all before we taxi. Although I didn't mention it earlier, the international flight did the same thing with the juice and towels, and my first flight gave me juice, but no towels. The hot towels are more of an Asian custom, so it's of little surprise that they didn't do it on the domestic flight. This is pretty similar to the last plane, except that it seems like the business/first class is really separated from the rest of the cabin since it's on a whole different level and the monitors. It's really nifty in my opinion.
In the back of my mind I can't help but chuckle at the image I must have. I'm wearing a pair of jeans with a small worn hole on one knee, and another hole budding on the other knee. My t-shirt is old and the image is faded as well as the black color of the cloth. I'm lugging around my giant laptop bag plus a conglomeration of 3 jackets that I use as winter wear for temperatures that vary from 30-60 °F. Quite honestly, when I wear the bundle of jackets probably make me look like a hobo or a bum who's too poor to afford a good warm jacket. Honestly, I have good warm coats at home, its just I always prefer layers when the temperatures aren't consistently cold. But yea, so imagine this kind of poorly dressed young individual walking up to the gate, handing them a boarding pass, and then walking into the business or first class seating and taking a seat. The image just doesn't really click! Most of the people in these business classes are at least middle aged people and definitely dress well, as opposed to me, who dresses in fairly well worn clothing. Hahaha, I find it rather amusing. Well, take off time! Gotta turn this baby off.
