So we've been back in Australia for a week, and BM finished 2 weeks ago. 'Bout time I did my traditional post-BM post, but this year has been harder than before as the experience was very different with a SO there, and there were so many more complications than in previous years.
I'm not going to go into detail about the pre-event hassles and drama which coloured my experience rather negatively this year. Suffice to say, I was disappointed with the art grant rescindings and the non-placement of camps, which made me so angry I proactively spear-headed an alternative WhatWhereWhen to be printed on-Playa (with the assistance of the Black Rock Beacon), which gave me huge headaches for the first half of the event, not because the act of doing it was problematic in and of itself, but because of how long it took to get in I was horribly sleep deprived and trying to work to a schedule on zero sleep makes me a something-something. But I will try to keep to the positives, and there were a lot of those.
There was also the pre-event adventures - not a whole lot of them, but we did have a *very* nice hotel in LA to recover from jetlag in: K was beyond astonished when I told her the rooms only cost $56 a night. Yay Priceline!
