returned home to western North Carolina a changed woman. After all, that is how
it goes, right? Haha
Anyway,
it's still true, she went across the country too…and twice at that. She’s a
better realm of perfection because of it.
The
explanation of her 'dings’ had potential to become seriously entertaining for
me, but was decided best to be done straight. Needless to say, but still as
always…goodbye security deposit. I usually kiss that money away the second I
sign the check anyway.
Solemnly
Sumner and I, the ‘cute couple’ that we are, traded all of our belongings back
into my crammed car. Waving goodbye to Lola like I was leaving a puppy behind
on the farm, we were Delaware bound; but not before Seb, Tom and Matt stocked
up on beef jerky and Gatorade for the backseat ride.
There was
a lot of sleeping and making fun of advertising and business names as we drove
upward toward the eastern shore. Sumner was up for one last beloved Chipotle
burrito that was impossible to find in a mass commercial helltown somehow
located in the middle of nowhere. There were usual British snickers from the
backseat as the blue tax free/first state sign Delaware wore proudly flew by
out the window.
