Where I stayed

After a beautiful drive along the countryside of Austria we arrived in Vienna. We got a busy campsite on a hill on the outskirts of Vienna with easy access to the city using public transport. Although the campsite was noisy during the day it was dark and peaceful at night and we had a nice spot!

With the weather getting a little cooler we put on our sweaters and took a walk into town. We passed through the Belvedere museum, home of the famous painting "The Kiss" but decided we would rather walk around outside then tour the museum so instead we walked through their gorgeous gardens. We started the day late so we didn't have to big of a chance to explore and decided to stay in Vienna an extra night to enjoy the city a little longer and thank goodness we did!

The next day we visited the Museum District, and again we decided not to enter any of the museums but who needs to pay anything when just all the buildings are works of arts within themselves. After walking around for 3 hours in awe of all the magnificent architecture we decided to take a seat at some gardens and then take a nap on a hill at a university. Vienna is a very hip city with a large young population that seem to enjoy a more hippie lifestyle. As we lay in the grass a large group of guys played their guitars and tamtams and sang us to sleep. We decided to walk back to the tram since it was getting cold and we spotted a cute café called “Phils” and stopped in for a warm drink. Chris got a Cappucino and I of course got a Hot Chocolate…what a greatttt hot chocolate….Im still talking about it to Chris…it was hazelnut with lil nuts at the bottom and lots of whip cream!! Yum! Anyways the café went along with the hippie crowd of the area and was filled with low tables and sofas and had a dj playing oldskool rock and jazz music. There were records on the walls and a small bookstore at the back, selling mostly german books and movies, but Chris did manage to buy Fight Club the book for some light reading. I may steal it from him after!

Well after feeling like we got to experience a bit more of the city it was off to Bratislava, Slovakia for the next part of our adventure!!!
